It's Monday morning and your manager has informed you that human resources needs a copy of your diploma for their records. Problem is, you have contacted your former schools and found out that they no longer issue copies of existing diplomas.

For years, people have argued that schools will gladly issue copies of diplomas to former students but that is simply not true in many cases. I know this for a fact because I recently contacted my own school to get a copy of my former High School diploma which was recently damaged. The school apologized but stated that they no longer issue copies of diplomas for former students.

The reason has a lot to do with record keeping and the overall desire to have academic transcript records more so than diplomas.

Many employees who have been put on the spot to provide a copy of their diploma, don't know what to turn, in the case of their school no longer issuing diplomas.

A few people have turned to the internet and fake diploma suppliers, to create then something to use as a valid substitute. Fake diplomas are printed on the same paper as real diplomas and contain many of the necessary characteristics such as the name of the school itself, date of graduation, city and state, and of course, your name... the student.

When photocopied, fake diplomas can be handed in as a valid replacements. If you actually did graduate with a particular degree or certificate, there is no harm in presenting a fake diploma as an original.
